The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance

The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (formerly known as the Guitar Institute and ICMP), is an independent, specialist music education provider located in London, UK. They offer courses in guitar, bass, drums, vocals, music business and songwriting. Notable alumni include Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien, Paloma Faith bassist Andrea Goldsworthy and RnB artist Loick Essien.

Founded in 1985, by session guitarist Alan Limbrick, the Institute was originally known as Guitartech™ & Basstech™, and was focused exclusively on training and developing guitarists and bassists. The 'tech' names were later dropped and the Institute retained the 'Guitar Institute' name. The school now also offers courses in drums, vocals, songwriting and music business...
